The Rhythmic Arts Project (TRAP) is an innovative and dynamic curriculum that teaches a variety of skills using drums and its sympathetic counterpart--rhythm--as the medium of modality. Trap learning is an inclusive educational program serving our friends with intellectual and Developmental Differences as well as their typical peers. The curriculum is comprehensive offering a wide range of subjects addressing reading, writing, arithmetic, social skills, and creative thinking. As part of the TRAP philosophy, group teaching occurs in an environment that is supportive, cooperative and fun, and members naturally develop confidence and a positive self-image. The behavioral process is one of the most significant aspects of The Rhythmic Arts Project. Our main purpose is to have fun and to learn in the process. However, it is important to keep in mind that learning requires high expectations, structure, and reinforcement.

Served adult clients primarily in their home ranging from thirty to eighty years of age, with individual characteristics across a broad-spectrum of diagnoses. Provided companionship, assistance, guidance, and support to individuals in accordance with the level of support needed in order to live successfully and safely in their own home. Types of support and duties included: medication administration, record keeping of monetary expenditures, assistance with learning and performing necessary daily living skills such as meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, scheduling appointments, working with a budget, personal care (i.e., bathing, toileting, hygiene, transfer, pushing/pulling an individual in a wheelchair), and supervision for safety.
