Working as a small team to complete large bulk orders of sweets, it is my responsibility to ensure all the listed sweets are correctly placed into each box ready to be shipped. Once each box has been packed they are to be set out on a pallet ready to be wrapped and labelled. Working in the warehouse and taking stock to ensure the boxes of sweets can be packed.

What began as a voluntary position here soon progression to paid employment, as my hard work and dedication was recognised. Excellent time management and organisational skills were required here while I was in employment and in education, as I needed to acknowledge priorities and meet deadlines, and process the administration for visitors, animal owners and bookings. I was often solely responsible for supervising the animals for long periods of time and administering medicines. My communication skills have developed and improved in this role; maintaining a professional yet friendly telephone manner while handling customers’ queries and bookings; providing helpful customer service; and reassuring anxious animal owners that their pets would be safe and well. I have needed to analyse each animal’s needs preventing potential issues through correct diet and exercise. I have shown dedication to this role by participating in fundraising activities and not being afraid to ‘get my hands dirty’ while cleaning the kennels. I have gained experience with grooming a wide variety of different breeds, by bathing, drying and brushing them so they would be happy and clean for their owners return.
