• Proposed and implemented sustainable and testable architecture patterns for React/Redux application using Hooks, Redux Saga, Storybook, Jest, and Enzyme.• Developed Node serverless functions with automated deployments to AWS Lambda and API Gateway using Serverless and Terraform.• Automated AWS deployment of staging and production React application using Terraform and CircleCI. This adds complexity because existing published functionality must be maintained while development for new features is progressing. • Implemented administrative web site giving non-technical staff access to application data in an easy to consume manner. The metadata is stored in a custom domain specific language that was implemented with ANTLR. The DSL then builds the Ed-Fi XSD, ODS DDL and other metadata required for the REST API allowing for a single source of truth across different data representations. Managed team of ten developers through kanban process. Worked directly with customer to determine the product’s feature priorities and scope of work. • Jan 2014 - May 2014: Reworked the Ed-Fi XSD data standard and ODS schema to support the automatic code generation needs of the Ed-Fi REST API. The culmination of this effort is the Ed-Fi 2.0 standard, released April 2015. This work required quickly learning in depth needs of the various facets of the domain and negotiating with stakeholders on how to implement needed changes. Established naming conventions and design patterns to be used in all future development and extension of the data standard.• Nov 2012 - Jan 2014: Developed application to allow developers, business analysts, and clients configure metadata used to power web dashboard. Technology stack includes Bootstrap 3, Knockout, Knockback, Backbone, Backbone Relational, jQuery, REST web application, ASP.Net MVC, Automapper, code-first Entity Framework 5, and StructureMap.• June 2011 - Nov 2012: Worked on the Ed-Fi Dashboard, an application providing up to date educational metrics to teachers, staff and administrators in five pilot districts in Texas with support from the Dell Foundation. This application is now deployed in five states and is freely available through a license from the Dell Foundation. Technology stack includes jQuery Templating, jQueryUI, jQuery, REST web application, ASP.Net MVC, SubSonic, and Castle Windsor.

• Identified application performance hotspots and fixed problems found.• Unified code duplicated in to product branches into a single branch and incorporated the branch into the automated build process for both products.

• Architected and coded web application using C# and the .Net 2.0 Framework. The front end utilized Monorail and the database access was done with NHibernate on a MySQL database.• Developed build system using NAnt to help developers with configuration and to deploy to both staging and production servers. This system served over 5 million widgets a day.• Transformed site from ASP.Net to Monorail with NVelocity templates. This separated the business logic from the UI, eased the use of AJAX on pages, and allowed less technical web developers to work on the UI.• Optimized memory usage using WinDbg• Designed and implemented ETL workflow using SQL Server 2005 SSIS. This workflow provided data for traffic reporting and customer billing.
