The job also requires advertising the positions created and awarding them to the senior most bidders. The monthly awarding of relief days for extra board trainmen and engineers is also a function of an assignment clerk. Filling vacancies in Amtrak train crews across the country. This requires contacting designated extra employees in the region of the country where the vacancy exists. The position also requires monitoring trains for lateness, to make sure the train crews do not violate the federal hours of service law. If a train becomes so late this law may be violated the crew dispatcher is responsible for finding a replacement crew. The crew dispatcher would also inform the next crew in place down the line about the late train and to change they’re on duty time. Show less

Building Databases, Reports, and Forms for clients, using my experience with Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, VBA (Visual Basic for Applications), and Crystal Reports. Projects I have worked on include:Document Template Development: This project required me to test templates developed in Microsoft Word for the Research and Development arm of a major pharmaceutical company. After ensuring the templates worked properly in Word 6.0, the project required conversion of the templates to Word 8.0 in a Windows NT environment. That part of the project required me to not only test the templates for proper performance, but to make corrections to some of the templates. Sales Management System: This project required constructing a database, queries, and forms to track the progress of the client's sales force, the amount of product sold and a detailed breakdown of information concerning their customers and their competition.
