Campaigned and was elected to represent the social democratic party at the city parliament, which is the legislative body of the town. I resigned from Parliament in order to come to the United Kingdom to pursue my studies.

Worked mainly on (re)insurance litigation matters ranging from an international arbitration dispute relating to insurance coverage proceedings arising from a Construction All Risks (CAR) policy, to a solicitors' professional negligence claim (including SRA investigation) and to foreign jurisdiction proceedings regarding claims advanced under a casualty loss policy.

Worked on the public inquiry into the Grenfell Tower fire.

One week work experience with a team of insurance lawyers. Developed legal research skills by carrying out research into terrorism law and natural catastrophes.

Individual work assignment for the business development team of Veolia Environment Services, the waste management arm of Veolia Environnement. Developed a bespoke analytical tool that is used in waste management tenders where outsourcing of services is required. The tool has a range of applications. Its main aim is to facilitate the identification of and comparability between sub-contractors. In addition, it enables benchmarking and highlights to the sub-contractor areas for improvement.

* Assisted in the setting up of the Commonwealth Environmental Investment Platform (CEIP). * Daily responsibilities included general administration, managing communication within the CEIP, its * members and third parties, growing the CEIP network, attending events, conferences and seminars and conducting research on-line and from resource materials. * Reporting directly to the Chairman of the firm.

* Undertaking a document review on the multi-jurisdictional financial regulatory investigation of an international bank. * Working in a large team and leading a group of eight paralegals. * Training and supervising new joiners. * Working closely with the associates on the matter. This close working relationship strengthened my communication skills and ability to work under pressure. * Utilising my strong language skills in order to translate important documents in German, Italian, French and Spanish. * Gained a real insight into the importance of confidentiality by supervising a third party data room during the due diligence process of a major Corporate takeover. * Strengthened my attention to detail and time management skills by conducting quality control exercises and redacting large volumes of documents in an often time pressured environment.

* Team member within the Sustainable Communities project and the Advice&Referral unit during 4 months. * Liaised with local government personnel, NGOs and members of the public to organise nation-wide events. * Casework activities: handling initial enquiries from clients, legal research, assigning the case to a technical and/or legal expert, case management and client monitoring.
