I am employed at Fort Hays State University. I teach in the sociology department and am the assistant director at the Docking Institute (a research organization at FHSU). For the Institute, I am involved in the design of a variety of research projects involving survey research, focus group research, and strategic planning and community development (primarily in western Kansas). I am the lead researcher for labor and employment studies and have worked for clients in Kansas, Colorado, Missouri, Oklahoma and Nebraska. I have been here (at FHSU/Hays) for about 12 years. I am working on my PhD in sociology at K-State. Prior lives include serving in the Army and working as a journalist in Washington DC.
