To achieve the required outcomes, good communication was required between the other disciplines design teams, construction, TBM manufacturer and segment manufacturer as part of the alliance culture.NOV 2010 - MAY 2011: TEAM LEAD - TUNNEL - WATERVIEW CONNECTION AUCKLAND (TENDER DESIGN).A alliance project in Auckland, New Zealand with a bid project value of approximately $25M NZD. Design team lead for The Well-Connected Consortium for the tunnel. The scheme consists of two tunnels that are approximately 2.4 km in length and are to accommodate three traffic lanes in each direction, estimated 13.1m ID TBM tunnel.Responsibilities involved managing the design team to develop and deliver the concept design of tunnel lining, portals, cross passages intersections and space proofing for the TBM tunnel. AUG 2008 - NOV 2010: SUB AREA LEAD - SEAWATER LIFT PUMP STATION - VICTORIAN DESALINATION PROJECT.A design and build project in Wonthaggi, Vic, Aust with a project value of approximately $3.5b AUD. The SWLPS is a major structure over an area of approximately 70 x 40 m and some 27 m high constructed in an open excavation at 11.5 m below sea level.The role, as part of design team involved managing a structural team to deliver design packages for SWLPS. Responsibilities included involvement with client, construction, operations and maintenance and other third parties to ensure integrated structural design.

Role also involved checking subcontractor submissions and monitoring implementation on site. Other duties included regular review and assessment of dewatering and settlement data associated with ongoing construction works.

Duties included: design and documentation of cross-section and space proofing preliminary design of barrier systems interfacing driven tunnel designs with other disciplines, including numerous mechanical and electrical and access requirements design of primary ground support for cross-passages and intersections within driven tunnel, including drainage sump cross-passage settement analysis of driven tunnel and documentation of effects surface structures geotechnical logging of boreholes and supervision of drilling contractors.
