Select projects and mentor undergraduate students working on VIP teams to gain undergraduate research experience within the UAV Lab. Projects encompass focus areas including C programming, embedded development, and cyber physical systems.

- Dissertation research: design and develop run-time assurance monitor to ensure proper functionality of sensors to detect data faults/cyber-attacks on a UAV Flight Control System based on specified flight requirements.- Experimental testbed for teaching cyber security of cyber-physical systems creating a hardware-in-the-loop simulator for the VCU Aries Flight Control System and a cyber-attack monitoring system using FPGAs and embedded Linux OS. Assisted in course lab instruction, office hours, and grading for Engineering Programming in C, Advanced Engineering Programming in C, Introduction to Microelectronics, Microcomputer Systems, and Digital Systems

Assisted in development of new heated and cooled blackbody test platform and supported build of heated blackbody targets for calibration and detection of objects in environments with reduced visual fields using infrared cameras from aircraft.

- Spring 2019: Led team of six other undergraduate students to prepare vertical takeoff aircraft for AUVSI Student Unmanned Aerial Systems Competition tasks.- Fall 2018: Developed multi-rotor stability control algorithm to limit pendulum effect of a slung load.- Spring 2018: Analyzed and calculated ideal flight transition for vertical takeoff and tilt rotor airframe styles for the smoothest and most efficient in-flight transitions.- Fall 2017: Consolidated and simplified the Safety Switch code from a single code for each airframe style to one more concise code to accommodate all air frames as part of the Flight Control System for the UAV lab preventing unnecessary loss of plane in manual control if wrong code is loaded.- Spring 2017: Adapted previously built vertical takeoff aircraft style to a larger fixed-wing frame to fly in both horizontal and vertical styles in preparation for the AUVSI Student Unmanned Aerial Systems Competition, with our team achieving twelfth place out of over fifty teams.- Fall 2016: Served as group leader to first semester students in VIP to introduce them to all aspects of UAV Systems, including mechanical building, flight control system programming and lab flight simulators to help further their knowledge.- Spring 2016: Built first successful fixed-wing aircraft for vertical takeoff and performed detailed calculations to determine the ideal motor and propeller setup to deliver the required thrust.- Fall 2015: Worked with a senior mentor to learn how to program an Android app to monitor an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) from the ground control station.

Summer internship in UAV lab designing and constructing a fixed wing model aircraft for vertical takeoff and tilting rotors for transitional flight and programmed the Flight Control System to adapt for this aircraft style.

Created a responsive website tested on a local IIS server then deployed on Microsoft Azure using the MVC Framework integrating REST APIs, SOAP Services, and Dependency injection.
