BaKare Beds Ltd has been in business for over 20 years and has become a well-known supplier of care beds to both retail and high volume contract sale customers'.Within this organistion I am currently heading up a highly motivated team of 11 staff responsible for every aspect of Product management after point of sale in the areas of Warehousing, Distribution, Deliveries, Installation, Customer Service and Repair.Due to the nature of our high specification products and their importance to our clients that use them, it is essential that every aspect of the above tasks are carried out with the utmost care, dilligance and empathy.Working in a consistantly high pressure environment ensuring the delivery lead times and call out repair times are consistantly met and exceeded.During my time at Bakare Beds Ltd I have been instrumental in the development of the organisation and seen it grow from 5 employees to the now 24 employees based over 2 locations. Included in this growth, a key achievement has been the development of the nationwide service network providing 24 hour support 365 days a year to our valued customers.Also responsible for new product development and certification I have been able to call on my engineering background to ensure that the products we procure and supply are not only innovative but conform to the current regulatory standards. This development has been consistantly in collaboration with German, Spanish and Chinese manufacturers enabling me to develop my international communication skills to deliver the service and rapport from our suppliers that has facilitated Bakare to build and maintain its success within what is a highly competitive market place.

Devonport Royal Dockyard

An incredibly interesting and varied Job Role. During my time in this position I covered every aspect of the Engineering Designers Role over several major refits in the areas of Aircraft Carriers, Frigates and Submarines. Responsible for :Pre & Post Refit surveysAlteration and Amendment detailed technical drawings Associated Material Listings and ProcurementSpecialising in Chilled Water, Avcat fuel Systems, Rod Gearing and Ventilation.Working as part of a design team I was able to develop, progress and become involved in developing apprentices within the team. I was also heavily involved in a Standards comparison exercise that was instrumental in securing a multi million pound contract for the Refurbishment of the American Phalanx weapons system.In addition to the above I was fortunate to be part of the implementation of Computor Aided Design within the Drawing Office, involved in the scanning and updating of the manually drawn originals onto the computor system along with comprehensive training and experience on the Autocad system.

Part of the last intake of Ministry of Defence Apprenticeships, fortunate to recieve the full benefits both academic and practical of this world renowned 4 year apprenticeship.Covering all aspects of mechanical based hand skills and machine skills, encompassing Lathework, Milling, Grinding etc both manual and CNC, moving onto the practical application of these skills within the working marine refit environment of HM Dockyard Devonport in the following areas :Combined Weapons & Equipment : Involved as part of an expert team refitting and refurbishing the Seawolf guided missile launchers.Small Ships : Involved as part of a team responsible for all mechanical aspects of the multi million pound refits and refurbishments of Royal Naval Survey ships.Dockyard Services : I wide ranging and largely independant role comprising a multitude of maintenance activities covering a huge range of mobile and static plant equipment from overhead travelling cranes to plant room equipment and hardware.
