My love and passion for marketing and business landed me back in school at Durham College for business administration focused in marketing. Post-graduation, I continued my career at Carr McLean, as Sr. Graphic Designer, but in a new direction as the Creative Director and Graphics Department Supervisor.My responsibilities included:- Managed Graphic Design Team: delegated jobs, organized and scheduled department duties/jobs to keep jobs on track and department running smoothly- Managed all in-house graphic jobs, business cards, marketing promotions, etc.- Helped coordinate conference shows and headed up all marketing materials (banners, displays, table clothes, brochures, pens, business cards)- Communicated with printers and printing partners to complete quotes and pricing- Communicated with suppliers for product information and images- Created layout and content for the annual Kids' and Teens' Catalogue: choose which product to sell (books and other reading promotions), updated existing products, pricing, etc., and met with book suppliers and printing houses to discuss marketing and sales- Proofread, proofed and edited all page content, advertising, etc.- Generated product descriptions for print and web applications- Oversaw the general company advertising and design goals to create a cohesive brand and advertising- Organized and budgeted for the annual advertising schedule and communicated with associations and trade show vendors on future opportunities and fostered current relationships- Created advertising and promotional language (i.e. legal content and guidelines, rules for discounts)Although I do not manage the Graphics Department currently, I do continue to proofread and edit the catalogues, advertising and other materials and I help complete other Graphic Design duties on an as needed basis.

I began my career at Carr McLean as an Intern in their in-house Graphic Design department, following my graduation at Humber College. Main responsibilities included:-Creating four annual catalogues from cover to cover, from start to finish - including cover designs, layouts, typography, image editing and communicating with suppliers and printers-Updating and adding products to the website, as well as website banners-Creating and designing print advertising for conference booklets, magazines and more-Creating and designing marketing material

I worked at Subway Restaurants as a part-time student in 2006 while completing my high school studies. A few years later I found myself back working at Subway while completing my college studies. I quickly proved that I possessed time management and leadership skills, and was appointed a store key holder and shift supervisor, evenings and weekends. As key holder and shift supervisor my job duties included:-Opened and closed store locations, supervised employees on shift-Delegated jobs fairly to team and aimed for a positive atmosphere-Handled customer service complaints, phone orders, cash sales, and cash drops-Maintained kitchen and fridge stock, bread stock, etc. and overall stock on shift-Printed daily reports and closed off sales for the day

Main job responsibilities included: -Cashier sales-Customer service-Stocking items-Product placement-Inventory-Store clean up

Through the Student Summer Work Exchange Program I was able to spend the summer in Quebec working at Parc Historique de la Poudiere de Windsor where I assisted in day to day activities, speaking to customers and completing tasks around the park. I also assisted in walking tours of the park and helped patrons while on the trails.
