Making a difference in people's lives by teaching college level and developmental English classes at the Reese Center and Lubbock campuses.

I completed technical writing projects as requested by the pediatrics department. Some of the complex tasks I performed included documenting office procedures and creating procedural manuals detailing these tasks. Some of these tasks included documenting the daily activities of the genetic testing lab office manager and the referral coordinator for the pediatrics department. These manuals were intended to be used for training purposes. I edited existing manuals for the genetic testing laboratory. I also edited the residents' manual for the Pediatrics Residency Program.

Ms. Shelton provides detailed feedback to doctoral students for their writing projects. She assists students with revising and editing their dissertations to improve readability in preparation for publication. She acts as and demonstrates the skills of a proof reader for students to help them detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax in their writing. Lastly, she assists students with the formatting of their dissertations, helping them to apply the APA guidelines and the formatting requirements of the Graduate School. She enjoys helping students successfully navigate their final steps toward completion of the Ph.D.
