Catholic Charities, U.S.A. (CCUSA) – Responsible for managing the accounting, annual budgeting, monthly forecasting and other financial functions for the organization. CCUSA is the national office for local Catholic Charities agencies and affiliates nationwide. CCUSA provides leadership and support to enhance the work of local agencies in their efforts to reduce poverty, support families, and empower communities.• Act as a business and finance consultant to CCUSA executives and managers.• Close the books within three business days of each month and provide management with a Flash Report summarizing financial results.• CCUSA received a clean audit opinion with no internal control deficiencies or audit adjustments from the auditors for the year ended December 31, 2010. This is the first time this has happened in the 110 year history of CCUSA.• Assisted in developing a new financial reporting package for the Finance Committee and the Board of Trustees.• Managed conversion to a new accounting, grant and fund management system.• Developed Key Performance Indications (KPI) and monthly KPI reports.• Streamlined and developed new internal control procedures and workflow for accounts payable. Transferred all invoice approvals and processing on-line, as well as, having all invoices filed electronically.• Successfully changed year-end from December 31 to June 30 with a clean audit opinion for the six-month period ended June 30, 2011.• Assisted CFO in financing purchase of new headquarters building for CCUSA, as well as, setting up accounting and internal control procedures for building.• Developing accounting and internal control procedures for a new Medical Trust available to CCUSA and all local agencies providing health, dental and vision insurance.• Made customer service to CCUSA employees a priority. CFO instituted surveys to track results.
