Served as a key member of the management team of Landauer’s $30+ Million Medical Physics subsidiary. Ensured high quality financial information and analysis is provided to other members of the management team to help drive profitable growth.Leadership• Conducted financial training sessions with each of GPS’s regional business leader as well as worked with each regional leader on an ongoing basis to improve the financial performance of their region.• Managed the accounts payable, payroll, billing, cash application process and general ledger for the various entities of GPS.• Successfully implemented 4 acquisitions into GPS’s reporting structure.Financial Planning & Analysis• Developed a dynamic budgeting & forecasting model which created more accurate and timely financial forecasts for each of our 10 regions.• Created a profitability by contract tool which provided management clear visibility of the financial performance of each of the 48 long-term therapy contracts.• Provided GPS’s parent company’s Board of Directors quarterly financial and variance analysis.• Developed monthly reporting packages for each of the various stakeholders.

Served as Controller/Director of Finance for 8 not-for-profit association clients. Ensured on-time issuance of client’s monthly financial statements through the coordination of senior and staff accountants. Presented financial results to association’s Executive Committees and Board Members as well as provide recommendations for areas of improvement. Coordinated the year-end audit with external auditors.Leadership• Successfully lead the Building Service Contractors Association through bankruptcy.• Created the FMAS Financial Service Catalog used to develop new revenue opportunities for SmithBucklin.• Redesigned the Association for Corporate Growth’s Group 990 and 1099 tax filing process.Strategy• Designed Balanced Scorecards for association leaders to foster a more complete management of their associations.• Proposed and developed a Strategy Map designed to align the association’s actions with its mission.Analysis• Developed cash flow forecasts for CEO to guide the association through dynamic cash flow patterns which helped the association stay solvent.• Conducted break-even analysis to evaluate the viability and profitability of the association’s convention and trade show. • Developed a business valuation tool which allows clients to enter current year forecast information along with long-term expectations in order to evaluate the value created by the association and its programs.

Served as a key member of the management team for this e-commerce greeting/gift card seller and manufacturer. Lead and developed the accounting department’s staff of 4. Oversaw financial statement preparation for use by CEO and Board of Directors. Worked closely with the Controller to manage the cash flow for this start-up organization.

Managed accounting department of 12 for this $30 million revenue, $100 million cash flow, French-owned subsidiary. Oversaw the month-end financial statement preparation process as well as the reporting of the quarterly consolidated financial statements to Paris headquarters according to US GAAP. Improved the status of the USA office internationally. Closed 3 years of previously open audits and served as point of contact with various external audits; including an IRS audit.Leadership• Provided the financial leadership which allowed the turnaround and creation of a growing profitable business.• Secured a $2 million line of credit allowing improved cash flow and organic revenue growth.• Lead the process which allowed AXA Assistance to become self-insured for health insurance.• Created a “CPA for a Day” course to educate managers and supervisors about the financial statements and general accounting rules.• Lead several team building and coaching exercises that increased the department’s cohesiveness and alignment.Financial Planning & Analysis• Developed the budgeting and forecasting models for US entities in Chicago and Miami.• Worked with marketing department to develop pricing structures for new and existing contracts. • Created the Profitability by Business Segment Tool which allowed the CEO to determine which business segments to continue to develop. Internal Controls and Process Development• Developed and enforced financial internal controls which helped prepare the company for SOX Compliance.• Implemented the company’s month-end close reporting process and improved the quality of information reported to CEO and HQ.• Developed and communicated new procedures for AXA’s US Government contract as well as trained staff on regulations.

Assisted the Accounting Manager and Controller with tasks related to the month end close function in order to meet deadlines. Responsibilities included: manufacturing cost allocation, budget variance analysis for manufacturing cost and magazine revenue, preparation of quarterly balance sheet analysis for corporate accounting and management of the $7.5 million paper inventory.
