Director Of CommunityFounderco Sep 2019 - Jun 2021Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan AreaI served as the Director of Community for FounderCo, an entrepreneurial support organization. In my role, I was responsible for driving engagement within the founders and startups we served. Primarily, this consisted of organizing biweekly networking events, managing our social media accounts, and creating educational content for our founders. I also frequently analyzed the value we provided founders by assessing the amount of deposits versus withdrawals we made on our social media accounts. -

Psychiatric TechnicianPine Rest Christian Mental Health Services Jun 2019 - Jun 2021Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan AreaI worked on all units of this inpatient hospital including our children and adolescents units, adult units, older adults (seniors) unit, and our co-occurring unit (patients currently struggling with substance use disorders and their mental health). My daily job requirements included helping with admitting/discharging patients, monitoring patients vital signs, and helping patients perform daily activities of living. I also lead recreational and therapeutic groups on effective coping skills and setting achievable goals for the day. In my role, I also had to perform safety checks on all patients every 5-15 minutes. This meant the majority of my shift was spent observing patients behavior, listening to their concerns, and helping them to establish a safety plan for when they leave our care. Through Pine Rest, I was certified in Basic Life Support as well as Quality Behavioral Solutions De-escalation Program. These certifications gave me the skill set to understand patterns leading up to an incident on the unit and to de-escalate patients who are a harm to themselves or others all while using the least restrictive measures possible. -

The Center is the first year-round recreation facility providing social and emotional healing for kids with weakened immune systems and their families in a safe, clean environment. I got to see this mission in action every week as I spent Thursdays co-leading our fitness, art, and exploratory play programs.
