I joined the Au Naturale team as Saturday staff but within the first 6 months of working for them I progressed through part time and full time positions to be given a supervisory role. I gained considerable leadership skills helping to support, motivate and train other staff members. I was entrusted with cashing up and balancing the tills which improved mathematical skill. This role provided me with experience of planning and organisation through creating staff weekly rotas and setting up the shop floor and working within the stock room. As a supervisor I learned the importance of being reliable and trustworthy and the outcome that exceeds hard work. Excellent customer service skills were also achieved.

Supported and helped lead running groups for all members of the public. Gained confidence and experience of giving nutritional advice during sessions and also confidence of planning and presenting relevant advice for sport nutrition at the end of each session.

Working within the Reaching out across Durham project to improve employability health and tackle health inequalities within deprived communities.

MoreLifes initiative is combating obesity, targeting their efforts at children between the ages of 5 and 17 and their families. A combination of lifestyle session and physical activity were carried out with full monitoring of participants. A supervisor's role is to organise and over see each session and all staff, making sure the curriculum was met at a high standard and to liase with parents, children and programme coordinator, finding ways to inspire and motivate the children and families effectively. A high level of nutritional knowledge and leadership skills was called upon and encouraging results were achieved.

Experience working in different roles and with diverse groups of people was gained through working on projects focused on improving health inequalities. Leadership skills were strengthened, initiating my own recipe demonstrations in healthy cooking sessions in assisted residences of the older generation, schools and a halfway house for ex convicts as well as supporting other members of the East End Team helping prepare, set up and clean down sessions. Prevention of diabetes type ll and cardiovascular disease were the focus of other sessions and helped me gain confidence with articulation of nutritional advice to a group of people with specific needs. My time at East End heath was assessed as part of my studies with regards to communication, organisation and planning, team working and personal enterprise and i gained the highest mark of excellent for all.

Creating and expanding business for front running innovative shower company Aqualisa in North Yorkshire, Cumbria, North East and Scotland. Strengthening existing relationships and nurturing bonds with Bathroom showrooms, plumbers Independant and national merchants and bathroom distributers. Training staff on product features and benefits and offering support where needed. B2B field sales requires a high level of organisation and time management, a love of people and extremely strong communication skills. It needs drive, determination and a love to succeed. Selling is a fundermental skill which initiates successful outcomes and is at the heart of all business relations. Nurturing this skill is fast becoming a passion and an art within my job role.
