Teaching a Sports in Social Media class for Spring 2023 semester

— Collaborate with various members of the team including account strategists, paid media specialists, content creators and website management team to deliver a successful social strategy that aligns with the overall digital strategy. — Help develop the brand voice, as well as improve the social media and audience growth strategy and tactics based on real-time data and feedback — Collaborate with the sales and sponsorship teams to create engaging and valuable sponsorship inventory and brand integration opportunities. — Create content for and manage the day-to-day needs of events across social properties. — Work with corporate communications and WME | IMG talent to develop personalized social media strategy for clients. —Projects: Miami Open (tennis), Euroleague (basketball), PNC Father-Son Challenge (golf)

* Own, ideate and execute content strategy and voice for Bally Sports' national social accounts * Collaborate with business development, sales, marketing and communications teams to support the continued growth of the Bally Sports brand cross-functionally * Pitch and evaluate branded content opportunities to drive incremental revenue * Oversaw strategy and execution of Takis branded content campaign for National Signing Day that delivered 13MM * impressions

* Write 7-10 articles per week of varying lengths and styles and across all sports with a focus on investigative and enterprise stories. * Appear on-camera in studio to host and/or participate in discussions about content I’ve written.

* Part of a three-person social team hired to further transform Sporting News into a digital brand. * Produced an average of 35 articles per week that brought 1.5 million pageviews to the site within the first six months. * Responsible for day-to-day and overnight monitoring of SN’s six Twitter accounts and Facebook page. * Developed targeted content to bring unique visitors to SN.

* Attended all home and away football and men’s basketball games to write feature columns on gamer deadlines. * Wrote long features for men’s and women’s basketball and football media guides. * Educated athletics staff on social media best practices on Facebook and Twitter.

* Lead a team of 12 (four direct reports) social media and account managers who are responsible for providing best-in-class social media strategy for 14 * major sports accounts (including the Pacers, Packers, Phillies, Nike Diamond, Toronto Raptors, Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto FC, Seahawks, ESPN, FOX Sports, etc.). * Ideate around major tentpole events and milestones for clients in order to provide 360-degree social media marketing and stunts/activations. * Serve as a strategy-focused pitch lead to support inbound and outbound new business pitches, which entails concept ideation through to implementation. * Oversee live coverage events and assist with live coverage training, scheduling, planning, IT support, and rehearsals as needed.

* Build digital content road map for SN’s college basketball coverage from brainstorming multimedia initiatives to copy-editing to publication and promotion of stories. * Launched and co-hosted a 35-minute weekly college hoops debate podcast called "Kangaroo Court" with co-host Troy Machir. * Produced, edited and promoted a five-part feature series on John Calipari prior to his Hall of Fame induction. * Produce written content of varying lengths and styles; on average four-to-seven pieces of content per day (~4,000 words on an average day) * Co-manage a national beat alongside SN college basketball writer Mike DeCourcy. * Collaborate with athletic communications departments at colleges across the country. * Manage SN’s internship program: select, train and mentor three to five interns per semester. * Appear in occasional on-camera studio appearances to discuss stories I have written.
