Jerzy (Jurek) Gaciarz is a civil designer with 30+ years of extensive experience in rail and transit design, planning, manufacturing, construction and related civil disciplines, for various transportation authorities, agencies, and manufacturing companies. His most recent responsibilities have included various projects for Sound Transit such as planning studies (ST2), preliminary engineering (U-Link), and final design (Northgate Link Extension). Jurek obtained experience with special trackwork design, computer-aided manufacturing and computer numerical control during his employment with both Nortrak and Rail Products and Fabrications. Jurek has in-depth knowledge of local, state and federal design guidelines, extensive experience with Seattle agency processes and procedures, and is very experienced with software civil design packages including Bentley Rail Track, Inroads, MicroStation, and Autodesk AutoCAD.
