Highly motivated Ph.D. candidate in the Schafer Lab at the University of Notre Dame, Department of Biological Sciences. My primary interests include growing as an educator in the classroom and laboratory, elucidating mechanisms that promote tumor cell survival during extracellular matrix (ECM)-detachment, promoting science communication with the public, and engaging with community partners and elementary schools to provide an avenue for young students to perform hands-on science. My teaching experiences include general biology, molecular biology, molecular cell biology, cell biology, and tumor cell biology. My previous research experiences occurred in the labs of Dr. Isiah M. Warner (Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana) working with nanoparticle design for chemotherapy and Dr. Nadira Delhem (Institut Pasteur de Lille, Lille, France) working on developing dendritic-cell based vaccines for use in immunotherapy.
