I started this side career to push myself out of my comfort zone in direct marketing/sales. I wanted to see my passion for makeup be used in a great way. I believe in and support The Younique Foundation to the fullest and hope that my contribution towards the company helps more survivors of sexual assault. I'm a self taught makeup enthusiast who wants everyone to feel beautiful in their own skin, which is something I've struggled with for years.

I served food to the individuals living at the assisted living facility. Here I had to be fully aware of any medical conditions or restrictions that the individuals had. I also prepared food alongside chefs that worked there. Learned valuable patience skills working with these individuals. Took a variety of different orders and relayed them to the chef. Made sure all to execute all food safety guidelines effectively daily.

I began this job starting out as a server where I would serve the students, faculty, and staff at Virginia Tech. After awhile, I chose to learn more stations throughout the shop that way I was much more valuable in the workplace. I learned how to make pizzas, work the personal pan station, work the pasta station, and the registers. I became cashier certified here and began mainly cashiering, handling money and credit cards. Through my ServSafe certification, I was given a job in the bakery every Sunday where I would help the main baker make breads, gelato, and other items.

I learned fundamental time management skills that I have since built upon. I attended to birthday parties where I had to take down numerous beverage choices and food choices. I had to learn to continuously be aware of what was going on in the party to be sure everything was moving smoothly in a timely manner because most parties were only signed up to be an hour long. Had to be able to care for numerous different parties going on at one time to be sure every parties' guest had a positive experience.

Screening resumes and contacting potential candidates for the company through a call list from our head human resources center in Baltimore. Make phone calls to potential candidates and set up interviews using Appicantsteam. Update the calendar to keep up with candidates resumes, time of interview, and date of interview. I also update new agent information as candidates are offered positions and become new hires. Handle government tax papers from new employees. Enter all information, including background checks and drug tests, into 3 different programs.

Includes all of the duties from when I was a cashier at Au Bon Pain, but I now have the responsibilities of helping guide other employees on what must be done, train new employees, know how to clean our Merry Chefs, and be cross trained in all areas.

Worked in the library where I watched out for all the students that came to the library. Made sure no library books were stolen. Was able to fix the printer if it were to break down during my shift. Cleaned up the library and locked down the building when my shift ended.

I worked here as a summer position where I would help take medical records to veterinarians that were requesting information, entering new information from incoming patients, as well as sending out records that had been requested. For this job, I had to be aware of which records were out with a veterinarian as well as where each document was located throughout the record. I learned how to use a software for their systems that helped to update information in the computers as well as calling out of town veterinarians to obtain required information on patients. I learned to use a fax/copier to fax out information requested by veterinarians on their patients that were being seen at the hospital.

At Best Buy, I had to learn numerous different pieces of information on products that was sold in our store. This way, whenever a customer was asking for a specific item, I was able to locate it and inform them about what the particular product is capable of doing. I was also trained on a register where I handled cash money, checks, and credit cards. I learned valuable customer service skills after an incident where we didn't have a certain product in stock, so I helped a customer locate a product and in turn called that sister store to be sure that the product was saved for him. I was also able to help troubleshoot issues that customers had with some gadgets they had purchased.

I traveled to multiple events within the Central Virginia area to market our Renewal by Andersen windows to the public. It was my goal to create lead generation by getting individuals to sign up for our $10,000 sweepstakes. From there I would have to try to get individuals to set up an appointment. There was a total goal of sweeps and appointments for each event, but it was always the goal to go above and beyond to gain commission. Also had to check in/check out any event equipment I took to any events for set up. At the end of the event it was my responsibility to return everything and make sure no equipment was damaged.

I take on front desk responsibilities at the Johnston Willis location. I perform a variety of administrative duties such as checking patients in so that our clinical staff is aware the patient is present for their appointment. I verify and input referrals we receive from physicians for patients whose insurances requires referrals upon an office visit. I collect any copays that are needed from a patient for their appointment. I am knowledgeable in looking up if an individual is still covered under medicaid. I comply with all HIPPA rules in keeping all patient sensitive information confidential. I use two different computer systems when working with patients information. I have also begun to help out at the MRI section of our facility during Tuesday-Friday for an hour. Here I take copays, look over screening material to be sure patients are able to have an MRI, take reports from radiology and put them into each patients chart for their ordering physician.

Trained in all three establishments in the Squires department (Burger 37, Au Bon Pain- Squires, and Au Bon Pain- Graduate Life Center) doing a variety of different positions. I handled credit card machines if people were unable to use their Hokie Passports, I made cash exchanges with people who would pay with cash money, I learned how to create logs telling exactly how much cash/debit card money I had at the end of the night. I also learned how to clean the cafe as well as other areas within Squires. I became cross trained in different positions in all 4 shops that we worked. Kept areas sanitary for clean food preparation conditions. Supervised 2-4 individuals at night at my shop in the GLC.
