* Oversee our Pivotal Greenplum data warehouse environment, a massively parallel processing (MPP) shared-nothing database technology, including ETL development, data architecture, data storage, function coding, and system availability. * Design, build, load, and maintain de-normalized, distributed, and partitioned data structures in Google BigQuery and Greenplum. * Develop, enhance, and maintain over 20 SQL functions used to serve business data to our customer-facing web application. * Create ETL logic for extracting data from JSON documents and loading it into Google BigQuery append-only tables. * Aligned team deployment process with that used and supported by other groups within the company. * Implemented an improved database backup restore process in both our development and production Greenplum clusters. * Investigated a variety of different database technologies such as Amazon AWS Aurora DB, ScaleDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL in the pursuit to deliver aggregated data sets as quickly as possible to customers.
