Hudson organizes, supports and promotes the business interests of its independent member companies. With a core team having purchased, integrated and sold numerous businesses in the field services space, Hudson coordinates the execution for improving infrastructure and core capabilities of each individual member-company, implementing synergies and buying power to improve margins across the brands and geographies, and accelerating profitable and sustainable growth of each partner-company and the association as a whole. Hudson subsequently enables, accelerates and coordinates strategic recapitalization options for member-companies.

Directed YRC’s day-to-day operation in the United States and Canada. Reported directly to the President-COO and oversaw a team of 4 division vice presidents, 14 area directors of operations and 8 functional directors. Responsibilities included safety, engineering, quality and administration, maintenance and equipment, network design, operations planning, customer engineering, and linehaul operations. Developed strategic plan to accelerate the integration of Yellow Freight and Roadway Express, restructuring the management team, successfully addressing the changing business volumes and merging the two cultures. Consistently led corporation in key performance metrics including productivity, claims, safety, service, driver utilization and premium product growth.

Oversaw day-to-day field operations including safety, quality and administration, network operations and operational performance for this $3B national less-than-truckload unionized transportation carrier with 20,000 employees and 300 facilities in North America. Acquired by Yellow Corporation in 2003, Roadway Express operated as a separate business unit until 2009. Reported to the President, managed 6 division vice presidents, 20 district managers and 5 functional departments.

Profit and Loss responsibility for this $1 B division with 100+ facilities and 7000 employees across 17 states. Sales and Operations responsibility. Supported the initiative of Appreciative Inquiry related to employee engagement resulting in improved performance of the individual and business unit.
