I am perfectly content with my career. I have the freedom to retire at any time. My bond with my job is working with individuals whom I have worked with since the 80s and continuing to partner with them in getting whatever work comes our way done to the highest quality and professional standards. My biggest professional challenge at this stage is managing my workload and trying my best to mentor young engineers in the firm. Staying sane with computers that never seem to work quite as fast or as intuitive as I think they should is also a challenge - although they are quite useful. In some ways, I cannot believe my days as a SRO were onshift with no computers - aside from the plant process computer (with its nixie tube displays and all). Managing my income properties takes some of my time - the rest is for gardening and traveling.
