Jill Hopman is a practicing immigration, human rights, and entertainment attorney, who graduated cum laude from Duke University with degrees in political science and psychology, before earning her law degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. While in law school, she served as the Executive Editor of the First Amendment Law Review and was the recipient of the Gressman-Pollitt Award for Exemplary Skill in Appellate Advocacy. She has worked in immigration law since 2006, specializing in removal proceedings, litigation, asylum, domestic violence, aliens of extraordinary and exceptional ability, national interest waivers, adjustment of status, naturalization, DACA, waivers of inadmissibility, stays of removal, motions to reopen and reconsider, humanitarian parole, family-based immigrant visas, employment-based immigrant and non-immigrant visas, and appeals. Ms. Hopman has been cited in legal texts, honored by Amnesty International and the Southern Poverty Law Center, and published by the ACLU and numerous sports-related sources, including Chicks Dig the Fastball, Fantasy Hockey Scouts, Bleacher Report, Tobacco Road Blues, and a book by ESPN's Matthew Berry called Fantasy Life: The Outrageous, Uplifting, and Heartbreaking World of Fantasy Sports. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow and the Maura Clarke-Ita Ford Center, in addition to leadership roles as a Judge for the NYU National Immigration Law Competition, as a member of the Duke Alumni Admissions Committee, and as a volunteer with Emerge America, CUNY Citizenship Now, the Susan G.
