Capped 20-year Navy career as Commanding Officer of Navy F/A-18 squadron. Led 225 techs, administrators, and pilots in the maintenance and operation of 12 F/A-18 Hornet tactical aircraft during land-based and carrier combat operations.  Retired as only officer in Navy history to qualify as both certified nuclear submarine engineer and F/A-18 pilot. Accrued over 2000 tactical flight hours and 630 carrier arrested landings. Awarded five Navy Air Medals and a Navy Commendation Medal with Valor for 70 combat missions over Iraq and Afghanistan.
