The Department Supervisor (DS) supported three primary store priorities: Customers First, In Stock and Store Appearance. The DS supported Customers First by providing fast, thorough, convenient, best value and friendly service to customers. The DS interacted with customers by assessing their project needs, answering questions and making purchasing recommendations. The DS supported In Stock initiatives by assessing stock levels of products within my departments, restocking and ordering new items as necessary. The DS supported the Store Appearance priority by ensuring the department aisles promoted a shopping environment that was appealing and safe. Additionally, the DS oversaw associates, ensured that they are properly trained, provided them feedback and performed performance reviews, By supporting these three priorities, the DS drove sales to support department and store goals. The DS is also responsible for providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing all safety training, immediately correcting hazards/unsafe conditions & reporting these conditions to the manager On Duty, and working safely as not to endanger themselves, co-workers, vendors or customers. Consistently met the requirements of the three priorities while exceeding sales plans and continuing to the grow the departments' business. Received numerous Homer awards and Store Manager Recognition awards for outstanding customer service and department sales performance.

Championed all aspects (from construction start-up to on time delivery) of complex, $6M projects: demolition, time-sensitive bypass piping work, emergency diesel generator, electrical switchgear, and provision of carbon source to supply energy/cell-building material for dentrification bacteria in filters. Monitored project milestones and oversaw construction staff. Ensured compliance with necessary municipal codes, negotiated contracts, and maintained plant operations with minimal interruption during construction. Built and maintained productive working relationships with all levels of staff for seamless operations.♦ Completed and delivered multi-level projects ahead of schedule including construction of electrical duct banks, process piping installation, site work, paving, and erosion control for emergency diesel generator and electrical switchgear to provide power to denitrification filter system♦ Developed carbon source to influent wastewater to supply necessary energy/cell-building material for metabolic activity of dentrification bacteria in filter system including installation of new influent pumping station, control room, and pipe gallery as part of methanol feed and storage system

Directed full lifecycle project for $5M water pumping station and wastewater treatment plant for residential community including full P&L, hiring, operations, and productive partnership development with government officials and contractors. Utilized construction documents, plans, specifications, details, cost estimates, and associated piping and electrical systems. Designed changes to construction documents, plans, specifications to slash costs for owner and expedite construction schedule. Managed contracts, staff, deadlines, and work sites.♦ Spearheaded prompt delivery of Water Pumping Station Project including chemical treatment equipment, 139K-gallon atmospheric/5K-gallon hydropneumatic water storage tanks, booster pumps, and electrics building♦ Led Wastewater Treatment Plan Project including treatment building construction (51ft X 118ft), screening/grit removal system, pre-/post equalization/dual tanks sequencing batch reactor, aerobic digester, dual tertiary filters, ultraviolet disinfection system, and 60K-gallon disposal field dosing tank (in addition to paving, fencing, and landscape/erosion control).Completed project on time within budget, owner delayed system startup and turnover due to depressed housing market.

Led 1st contract awarded to renovate Water Pollution Control Plant including demolition and bypass piping. Managed tight project schedule through close supervision of superintendent and 15-member construction staff. Negotiated all project contracts including subcontractors, material/equipment acquisition, and any additional work. Forged effective collaboration with officials.♦ Delivered complex project including 250 LF of 60" steel pipe to bypass 1st-step lime reaction tanks, 80 MGD bypass pump system installation to maintain operations during 2-week shutdown for inspection/replacement of 8 60"/36" butterfly valves, and installation of new ferric chloride chemical injection system♦ Doubled original contract with extra work; reached $14M for additional installation of 350 LF of 60" steel pipe in foot-print of LRT1, new storm water treatment system, and 34.5kV electrical duct bankEstablished an excellent work relationship with the owner, eventually leading to the award of the main contract $200M+ to overhaul the entire facility.

Managed complex, multi-level projects to provide 2M gallons of jet fuel stored in 2 above-ground tanks. Built equipment pad with fuel transfer pumps, filter-separators, piping/electrical switchgear, 2 loading/off-loading stations, and central control system. Directed installation of 1 mile of 8 “ underground fuel pipe, and provided detailed oversight of demolition phase involving removal of three 600K-gallon underground tanks and pumps. Supervised 4 Superintendents and up to 15 construction personnel. Deftly negotiated contracts.• Collaborated with Fueling Division personnel throughout all aspects of project delivery, including start-up, commissioning, and turnover of new systems to seamlessly integrate with existing fueling operations. • Tracked project milestones and delivered projects on-time and on-budget. • Increased original contract amount by 50%, based on high-level quality of work delivered.

Completely automated biosolids handling process flow train and linked to central SCADA system. Monitored work of 7 Superintendents and up to 50 construction personnel, including contract development, work of subcontractors, and materials/purchase acquisition. Coordinated closely with Sanitation Authority Personnel in testing, construction, start-up, and turnover of new facility. Achieved with no interruption to current plant.• Managed complicated project, including Solids Processing Building which housed thickening/dewatering centrifuges, RDP lime-addition system, biosolids storage hoppers, polymer feed systems, primary effluent pump station, and plant-wide chemical feed/odor control systems. • Brought project up to schedule despite challenge of being far behind when took over management, and delivered within 8 months, via skillful pre-planning and exemplary collaboration with Sanitation Authority. • Recognized for outstanding ability to turn around difficult project and delivery within tight time-frame.

Managed Dulles Fuel Farm and Midfield Hydrant Projects, Dulles International Airport, including storage of 14M gallons of jet fuel in above-ground storage tanks and fourteen 1200 GPM hydrant pumps controlled by centralized digital controls. Upgrades improved plane refueling capacity and updated emergency shut-off systems at 2 separate concourses. Monitored work of 4 Superintendents and up to 90 construction personnel. • Developed sophisticated emergency fuel shut-off, alarm, and foam/water/fuel leak detection systems. • Finalized construction, start-up, commissioning, and seamless turnover of new systems, in close collaboration with airport staff. • Contract increased by 50% of original value, based on project results and timely delivery.

Designed/delivered Heating/Refrigeration Plant at the Pentagon, with ten 3,750-ton chiller and six 40klb/hr fully automated boilers. Coordinated start-up/commissioning, implemented with complex digital control system/boilers. • Recognized by Corps of Engineers staff for the timely delivery of this complex project. • Increased contract 70% from original value.Oversaw and wrote/edited System Operations and Maintenance Manuals for the complex mechanical and electrical systems Pentagon Heating and Refrigeration Plant.

Coordinated the construction activities and startup services performed by the Testing Support Services Group in support of the West Valley Nuclear Services startup and operational testing of the first vitrification facility to operate in the United States. The new vitrification facility encapsulates low level radioactive waste in glass and steel drums for stable,long term storage for the U. S. Department of Energy.

Provided technical guidance and supervision for the preparation, issuance and conductance of test procedures and decontamination procedures for the acceptance testing of all mechanical, electrical, fluid and structural systems of nuclear reactor plants onboard U.S. naval submarines. Worked closely with representatives from the U.S. Navy, Westinghouse and Naval Reactors to ensure reactor safely and proper operation of shipboard nuclear reactor systems.

Assisted Chief Test Engineer in planning, coordinating and scheduling reactor plant work performance and test programs. Oversaw the performance of reactor plant special operations procedures and acceptance tests. Responsible for adherence to all technical and safety requirements for the reactor plant. Directed especially complex reactor plant operations and testing shipboard with the assistance of test engineers, shipyard craftsmen and naval forces.

Directed all reactor plant test operations related to acceptance testing and maintained reactor plant safety at all times. Controlled all dynamic changes to the reactor plant in support of reactor refueling and overhaul work. Received six consecutive "Outstanding Work Performance'' annual awards, 1987 through 1992.
