Colonel Jeffrey S. Woolford is the Commander, 175th Medical Group, Warfield ANGB, Baltimore, Maryland. He is responsible for all Wing medical personnel required to carry out health care services. He formulates plans, establishes policies and procedures for delivering health care services, and assures health care support for mission accomplishment among a diverse Air National Guard Wing of more than 1,300 personnel. In addition, he is responsible for implementing programs such as total force training and disaster preparedness.

As the deputy senior Air National Guard medical officer for the State of Maryland, the Deputy State Air Surgeon serves as a consultant to the Adjutant General for all medical issues, and acts as the liaison between National Guard Bureau and all military medical units within the State. Additionally, functions as the State Headquarters’ Air Surgeon in addressing all Air National Guard medical and aeromedical programs within the State.The Chief of Aerospace Medicine oversees the aerospace medicine enterprise programs, coordinates aerospace medicine activities to include integration of local Aerospace Operational Physiology Teams, Aerospace Operational Psychologists, and maintains operational oversight for Flight and Operational Medicine Clinic personnel. From Maryland Department of Health press release dated 30 July 2020: Dr. Jeffrey S. Woolford has been appointed Director of Community and Facility Initiatives. In this role, he will lead all non-regulatory COVID-19 matters involving nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group homes and other congregate living settings. Dr. Woolford has more than 30 years of leadership experience. He received his MD from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and is Board Certified in preventive and aerospace medicine. He comes to MDH from the Maryland Department of Human Services, where he served as Chief of Staff. He currently serves as the Maryland Air National Guard Deputy State Air Surgeon.

The Judicial Ethics Committee was established pursuant to Maryland Rules of Procedure Title 18-302. Upon request from a State official of the Judicial Branch and in the context of a particular factual scenario, gives guidance by opinion or letter of advice, with respect to the application of the Maryland Code of Judicial Conduct, the Maryland Code of Conduct for Judicial Appointees, and Code, State Government Article, Title 15, Subtitles 5 and 6. The Committee also reviews timely appeals from the State Court Administrator’s decision not to extend the period for filing a financial disclosure statement and determines whether to allow a judge or judicial appointee to correct a deficiency as to a financial disclosure statement or to refer the matter, as to a judge, to the Commission on Judicial Disabilities or, as to a judicial appointee, to the State Ethics Committee. The Committee also submits to the Court of Appeals recommendations for necessary or desirable changes in any ethics provision.

The Royal Air Force Centre of Aviation Medicine (RAFCAM) delivers expertise and high quality training in aviation medicine, occupational medicine, environmental medicine, and related sciences, in order to support current and future air operations. It is responsible for training aircrew and medical personnel to decrease operational risk, providing appropriate and timely expert aeromedical advice and services to the Ministry of Defense (MoD), the Military Aviation Authority (MAA), the Air Accidents Investigation Branch, and commercial organizations. Medical operations are carried out at RAF Henlow in Bedfordshire, England, and flying trials are conducted utilizing the BAE Hawk T-1 aircraft operating from MoD Boscombe Down located at Amesbury in Wiltshire, England.

The U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM) is an internationally renowned center for aerospace medical learning consultation, aerospace medical investigations and aircrew health assessments. USAFSAM promotes readiness and protects force and community health by utilizing a range of tools and expertise including environmental and health surveillance, laboratory and risk analysis, process re-engineering, consultation and technological innovation to maximize operational health capabilities and to solve problems through ingenuity and partnerships. The program is three years, with the first year to earn an Masters of Public Health, second year a practicum in Aerospace Medicine, and the third year in Occupational Medicine.

81st Fighter Squadron / 52nd Aero Medical Dental SquadronProvide integrated operational and aeromedical guidance for the purpose of improving the success and safety of Air Force weapons systems and missions. Involved in the research, development, testing and evaluation of new Air Force systems as early as possible to realize the greatest mission effectiveness and cost savings while optimizing mission capability, performance, safety, and cost. Assist in developing new aircraft, life support equipment, and avionics or software upgrades, ensuring changing missions can be optimally accommodated by crews and aircraft. Identify and prevent human performance and man-machine interface problems from reaching mature operational systems and correct such problems in systems already in use. In a pilot capacity, maintain currency and proficiency in the A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft; prepared for immediate worldwide deployment. In a physician capacity, maintain medical credentials as a flight surgeon providing aerospace medical support in the fields of flight medicine, preventative medicine and occupational medicine; providing primary medical care for flying personnel and their families. Managed disorders and injuries unique to the flight environment and applied medical standards when examining personnel to determine fitness for duty, continuance or removal of flying status, waivers recommendation when indicated and aiding in preparation of patients for aeromedical evacuation. Regularly participated in flying missions evaluating aircrew, aircraft and the aviation environment for flight safety and aircrew performance enhancement. Established procedures for aircraft mishaps/disaster response and investigation. San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education ConsortiumWilford Hall Medical Center The transitional internship is a 12-month program post-graduate medical education program. It is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The transitional internship is designed to fulfill the educational goals of medical school graduates with the following needs: Medical school graduates who are planning to serve one or more operational tours as an Air Force Flight Surgeon or General Medical Officer (GMO) prior to completing a residency; Graduates who have chosen a career specialty which requires one year of broad-based education prior to entering a residency program in fields such as anesthesiology, dermatology, emergency medicine, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, orthopedics, psychiatry, pathology, radiation oncology, or radiology, or who plan to do a Residency in Aerospace Medicine; Graduates who have not yet decided on a specialty and desire a broad-based curriculum with the ability to explore a few electives in order to assist them in making that decision. The curriculum for the transitional interns is designed to meet all the guidelines of the ACGME, with an orientation towards the outpatient setting, but with the flexibility to experience more inpatient settings based on the goals of the individual intern. The curriculum is divided into 13 rotations averaging 4 weeks each. Six months have some type of call responsibility.
