Being a Paving foreman is a dynamic job. I was the main point of contact between customers, inspectors, crew, office, plant, trucking, project managers, and superintendents. I promoted safety and team work on the crew. Daily pre-shift huddle with crew to discuss the plan of attack. Lay out daily expectations to all involved. Assign specific tasks to fit needs of work load.Insure quality of product: Compaction, appearance, RIDE! Insure timely delivery of materials. Insure crew is on task, and hydrated.I measured each job and ordered the right amount of asphalt. Averaging 1200 tons a day on night shift highway paving. The "mix call" (amount of asphalt delivered) is a crucial part of staying profitable. At the end of shift, submit hours via IPad and "Heavy Job" Give heads up to crew for next day if applicable.

Duties:Operate heavy Equipment for Asphalt Paving crew. Establish and maintain rolling pattern to ensure uniform compaction, and density of HMA (Hot Mix Asphalt).Projects I'm proud of:"The Road to Paradise", Mt Rainier, Washington. From the gate at Ashford to the parking lot at Paradise. And from the parking lot all the way to the Stevens Canyon entry off Hwy 123.

First point of contact for customers. Set up time to walk through job site, and discuss project. Expertly address needs of customer, and provide detailed proposal of work. Once scope of work and price is agreed upon, sign contract and schedule the work. I was responsible for maintaining the schedule, dispatching crew, and ordering material on a daily basis. Favorite thing about job: Interacting with new people every day. Problem solving.
