Undertook a diverse range of contracted business consultancy services, successfully delivering projects and providing operational management across industry sectors, meaningful business process reviews, proactive change management, broad corporate training and business strategy development.

Representing the BHP Technology team, delivered business analysis and end client support services across the BHP Asset groups WA Iron Ore, BMA Coal, Olympic Dam and Nickel West. Produced 10 business requirement documents for projects across Australia. Worked closely with IT technical specialists in Australia and offshore to ensure the solutions delivered were as agreed with the end clients and the Program Manager.

Delivered management consultancy services to Health Shared Services, Western Australia, providing strategic recommendations for record management.

Held Project Manager position in the Enterprise Services division of Bankwest.

Volunteered regular teaching, in-class and support services to the Yew Chung International School in 2015/16. Contributed time from 2013.

Managed operations and projects of the Mining & Metals team (70+ staff) with a US$15m annual budget. Coordinated set up of the legal and physical SKM China office in Shanghai as a Wholly Owned Foreign Entity. Directed 80 projects to deliver quality inspection, control, fabrication, engineering, procurement and management consulting services in China, earning over US$25m in fees. My team helped international clients fast track their multi-million dollar projects whilst maintaining safety and fabrication standards. Clients included Rio Tinto Iron Ore, BHPB, Hydro Chile, Oz Minerals, KenGen, FMG, Glencore-Xstrata and Codelco. I was a corporate member of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. Attended events, including the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai on behalf of AustCham.

Reporting to then Managing Director of Rio Tinto China Mr Ian Bauert, I oversaw all design, procurement, contractual, fit-out and relocation activities for a new Shanghai office for 120+ personnel. The US$5m showcase headquarters were completed on budget and within a tight 7 month deadline. It was officially opened by Rio Tinto CEO.

Led a number of business projects, primarily for Halifax Bank of Scotland (Australia) and BankWest. Achievements included coordination of successful retail marketing and communications for a national expansion program, delivery of operational retail credit risk models essential for Basel II compliance and back office business process re-engineering for the Retail Bank delivering multi-million dollar cost savings. All projects required proactive change and stakeholder management.

Led a back office business process improvement project for the Retail Services division of BankWest to support the company’s rapid growth in Eastern Australia. Managed strategic business projects for the Retail Expansion division of the Bank. Tangible benefits of more than A$5.4m were realised.

Helped coordinate activities delivered by the corporate affairs and marketing teams for a A$100M+ business expansion project undertaken by client, BankWest. Proactive public relationship management and leading edge marketing were critical factors for the launch of the biggest retail banking network expansion ever accomplished in Australia.

Consulting through Change Corporation, managed delivery of on-site training for key computer applications to all the Rio Tinto Pilbara Iron sites in Western Australia. Critical production information from the systems was reported to Exco in London. I also oversaw implementation of a new Computer Based Training system.

Consulting through The Birchman Group, reviewed business processes to be owned by the new Western Australian regional power business entity Horizon Power to identify the process transfers required, business readiness and process gaps.

Worked on a variety of projects while at AeM, delivering independent and fresh management services for clients including Halifax Bank of Scotland (Australia), HBF Group, Western Power, WATAB and Bankwest.

Led a HBOSA retail credit risk modelling team covering BankWest and Capital Finance, delivering new credit risk models to very tight deadlines. The models met all regulatory requirements and were critical for HBOSA to achieve compliance with the Basel II Accord. Some of the innovative modelling processes established by my team were subsequently implemented by HBOS plc in the UK.

Delivered implementation of the Goods and Services Tax across Australia for the HBF Group, with revenue-neutral auditable compliance. Business readiness required pro-active change management.

Managed all business application testing for the HBF Group, delivering to strategic priorities and ensuring business continuity for Year 2000.

Led software development teams in Bankwest to build and implement critical components of a Core Banking System, replacing all major legacy IT systems. Management roles undertaken included Chief Designer - Software Development Group, Manager - IT Planning, Project Manager - Packaged Systems and Software Maintenance.
