Founded in 1972 as the Davis Free Clinic, CommuniCare Health Centers (CommuniCare+OLE) is a Federally Qualified Health Center offering comprehensive primary medical and dental services, perinatal services, behavioral health services, substance use treatment, health education, and outreach services to the culturally diverse, low-income, uninsured, and Medi-Cal populations of Yolo County and eastern Solano County, including migrant and seasonal farm workers and their families. Our mission is rooted in the underlying philosophy that healthcare is a right, not a privilege.

Provided consulting services to non-profit organizations, including: Strategic planning, systems building, organizational transitioning, quality management, continuous quality improvement, program development, training, grant writing and reviewing. Clients included the Michigan Department of Community Health, Detroit Health Department, Drexel University College of Medicine, Germantown Special Services District, Mt. Airy Business Improvement District, New York State Health Department AIDS Institute, San Francisco Department of Public Health, and the Alameda County Public Health Department.

The Global Tea Initiative's (GTI's) mission is to promote the understanding of tea through evidence-based knowledge with a global perspective–promoting tea research from anywhere in the world, in any discipline, with any methodology. As GTI's Industry Liaison and Research Analyst, I worked with Tea Industry partners, the USA and Canada Tea Associations, as well as other associations, to complement the work already occurring in support of the tea industry. This included: The development and deployment of an industry advanced Global Tea education certificate program, fund raising, and the planning and execution of an annual Colloquium, community events and education for GTI.

Provided transitional, operational, and fiscal leadership to a 280 household congregation and onsite preschool. As the Executive Director, I developed a human resource management structure and a collections systems to recover lost revenue. I created revenue growth through membership development and annual fundraising; and secured a $100,000 Department of Homeland Security grant through the California Office of Emergency Services. I restructured staffing and used performance management to improve workflow and efficiency. Additionally, I managed membership and donor relations; communications, including the development of a new website, newsletter, and annual report; oversaw all facilities maintenance and contracts; oversaw and managed campus security, including the development of a campus wide security plan; and implemented numerous physical campus improvements. Furthermore, in partnership with the Treasurer, I developed and managed a $1.2 million dollar budget across multiple programs, including the onsite preschool and Hebrew and Sunday School programs; and worked closely with the Board of Directors to develop/sustain congregation based programs.

Provided organizational leadership and management to the Mt. Airy Business Improvement District, which provides cleaning, greening, and beautification services to the Mt. Airy Commercial corridor enhancing property values, business development, and quality of life.

Coordinator of Quality Management: Developed and managed the Michigan Department of Community Health's Ryan White Part D quality improvement program and a statewide quality management system. Coordinator of Maternal and Child Programs: Coordinated the Michigan Department of Community Health's Ryan White Program Part D, including federal grant administration and provision of professional and technical consultation to a network of clinics, case management agencies, and one local health department to assure the delivery of comprehensive coordinated HIV/AIDS care and support services to women, infants, children and youth. Including: Fiscal and contractual management of six subcontracted agencies; daily program coordination and management to ensure program outcomes and objectives were met; development, execution, and oversight of a quality management plan and the implementation of subcontractor quality improvement activities; and developed Michigan’s perinatal HIV prevention policies and procedures.
