Jibe Mobile is responsible for building next generation mobile cloud services. Jibe's Global IP Communications Cloud is a certified GSMA RCS compliant cloud and is deployed for multiple carriers including Sprint, Vodafone, SFR, DT and Orange. Jibe's Hub provides the world's first interconnection between carriers.As VP of Engineering, helped to manage and control the “Engineering Factory” making sure the requirements pushed in can realistically be developed and deployed. Challenges include mixing the right priorities between customers, new features and technical debt. Other highlights include:Streamlined the deployment process enabling rapid deployment of cloud-based services across development, QA, pre-prod and production environments. Process improvements allowed for production environments to be updated on two-week cycles.Implemented a new caching framework to drastically improve the number of DB calls made during typical call flows. Cached objects TTLs were very short but allowed for a drastic 4x improvement in DB calls.Created an integration tool to perform application level testing of a cloud deployment. The tool allowed server developers to independently test cloud features without client developer’s support.Led messaging performance team to ensure that current implementation could handle required KPIs. Used existing and newly created performance tools to measure messaging servers for concurrent sessions and message rates.Wrote the reporting framework to provide real time statistics for all server components. Reporting events needed to be light and pushed asynchronously to ensure low impact for services. A centralized reporting service aggregates the events and provides data to graphical tools such as ELK and graphite.Led interoperability (IOT) efforts with various IMS infrastructure providers and other networks leveraging extensive RCS domain knowledge (RFCs, 3GPP specs) in order to achieve compliance and interoperability.

Technical lead for the Common Assembly Engine. The CAE is one of three core components of the Vodafone Portal (SDP) used in 22 countries worldwide. With Struts at the foundation, the CAE framework integrated with systems such as access, billing and content sources to build and assemble pages for the portal. Technologies such as SOAP and XML over HTTP are used to communticate with external systems. The CAE provides a fully modular design approach that enables countries to plug in custom implementations if necessary. Acted as a consultant to various countries to help integrate the SDP to the existing environment. Responsible for product demos of the SDP product to high level executives. Technical lead for the Personalization Engine. Personalization is an integral component for the SDP product. Personalization involves providing services such as custom navigation and menus, bookmarks, and click history that are specific to an individual account. The personalization engine is a third party product from Changing Worlds. Responsible for the vendor relationship and performed the majority of vendor management duties. Technical lead for the Vodafone Live deployment for Australia and New Zealand. One of a three-member team of engineers to deploy the Mobile Platform Photo Storage System (MPPSS) for Vodafone KK, Japan. The mobile service supported a customer base of 12 million customers .

Re-architected the company’s existing front-end using Jakarta Struts. This was to enhance UI performance and ensure that the application was using industry standard components. Orchestrated the use of custom tag libraries, completely replacing the old JSP pages with embedded Java snippets. Developed, designed and implemented the companies two most important and complex verticals, Restaurants and Conference Rooms.

Led the architecture and engineering efforts for the company's main application requirements including registration, site search and points system. Architected, developed and implemented the majority of the custom JSP tag libraries. Responsibities included: overall design architecture, integration of third party applications into BEA Weblogic Server, and performance testing the application to insure scalibility. Worked with KeyLabs as well as designed and implemented in-house benchmarking tools to get performance and reliability numbers. Helped the CTO evaluate third party applications such as other application servers, (Orion, Resin, Tomcat), content management systems (Percussion, Interwoven), and source control applications (CVS, Perforce). Designed and developed Perl based tools including a tag documentation tool, a database alert tool, and database submission tool.

Designed, developed and implemented client side Perspecta applications involving Excite Personals and Autos. The Perspecta technology leverages data with rich parametric information and presents the user with a more interpreted and intuitive set of query results. Designed, developed and implemented Excite Shopping Alerts, a C++ backend interface that maintained and tracked new and modified ECommerce product listings and informed the users via email or their My Excite Start Page. Designed, developed and implemented a Perl based media submission tool that helped Media Coordinators input ad banners into the Excite Ad Delivery System.
