I was am employed by sage, in the Croydon training department as a level 3 trainer (there are 4 levels) the job involved the delivery and writing of training courses using Sage Instant Accounts, Sage Line 50, Sage Payroll and Winforcast programmes All the courses were delivered in-house for a maximum of 10 delegates of mixed abilities in relation to computing and accountancy skills. The delegates range from administrative staff to financial directors and accountants. During the sessions I have to deliver the courses as well as answers queries from delegates, which may be software, technical, payroll or accounting related. It also gave me the opportunity to developed good listening skills and a high degree of patience and customer care

Part of my role has been converting the bookkeeping system from SAGE to Quickbooks for day to day bookkeeping, preparing quarterly and year end accounts. The role also involves preparing:- · Monthly management accounts – actual against budget · Quarterly financial report to the Finance & General Purposes Committee – P&L, cash flow, actual against budget and revised forecast. FM to attend the committee; CEO then to present at the board. · Quarterly reports to Government and other funders, plus annual ones at end of April-March financial year – approx. 6 reports · Budgets for funding bids when required – approx. 2 a month. · Liaison with book-keeper, fundraising team, project managers and CEO – to get information for the report, especially to update forecasts Assisting in the preparation of the year end accounts and liaising with the auditors Training finance worker Interviewing finance manager and bookkeeper

At HLC I was a tutor on AAT Accounting courses, and this involved giving online and telephone help to students, marking and assessing their work.
