Joined the Amazon Maps team to lead and build the teams responsible for processing and managing large scale, worldwide, geospatial data and a machine learning platform in order to deliver the Amazon Maps app and Amazon Maps API for Fire phone and Fire tablets. Grew into leading the entire Maps Data and Services org, comprised of over half a dozen engineering and QA teams split between the US and India as well as TPMs and a Cartographer. These team's are responsible for worldwide geospatial data processing, services like routing and map display, and some map application features.Sold innovative ideas to Sr Executive leadership, and worked with legal and finance organizations to manage budgets and contract concerns. Worked with business development and corporate development worldwide on contract negotiation, vendor management, and due diligence on M&A targets to support both business and engineering roadmaps.

Nearly 3 years of managing a small GIS team responsible for for processing schedule and location data into NextBus’s database from over 80 transit agency clients.Manage customer projects from client acquisition through ongoing maintenance, encompassing both hardware and software.Manage data in a PostgreSQL database using SQL, UNIX-based tools, basic Python scripting, and ArcGIS.Provide internal expertise on database schema and predictor algorithm to technical and nontechnical teams.Collaborate with software and database engineers on requirements and database design for new features.Supported a doubling in size of NextBus’s customer base with only a 20% increase in team size through effective resource management, hiring, and training.
