No resource is more essential to our health, our food supply, our environment, and our economic well-being than water. As the scope and complexity of water protection programs increases, so does the demand for improved water resource management.The Houston Area Water Corporation (HAWC) is a local, not-for-profit governmental corporation created by the City of Houston to provide the oversight, management and implementation of integrated solutions that meet or exceed environmental, economic, and sociopolitical requirements with respect to its water rights and assets.As a director of the HAWC, it is my honor to serve and contribute whatever business experience and specialized knowledge to develop specific, integrated solutions that meet HAWC's regulations and business goals, in addition to leveraging our city's well-established relationships with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies that help us provide cost-effective integrated resolutions that benefit all stakeholders.

-Building viable alternative solutions for the investment management industry. The dynamics are in place for a global platform that consolidates and redistributes intellectual capacity and financial resources, according to new rules, inside arguably the most potentially profitable industry on earth: managing and investing other people's money. -Helping investors and providers connect directly to lower their cost of doing business while maximizing results and customer satisfaction experience, in all dimensions imaginable. Applying economies of scale and converging information technologies to empower collaborative commerce, capacity utilization, and free market competition, we will structure proprietary deal flow, seed and cap next generation capacities while cultivating fair competition and new standards of best practices for all emerging or established members. -Seeking, connecting, and recruiting qualified experts/producers/power players/facilitators to build the right teams.

In order to recognize, support, and encourage the young people of our country who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the cause of relations among the races, Princeton University is sponsoring an awards program for high school students -- the Princeton Prize in Race Relations. Princeton and its alumni recognize that the issue of race relations continues to be one of the most urgent and important challenges facing our country. We have created this program to identify and commend young people who are working to increase understanding and mutual respect among all races. Through the Princeton Prize, we hope to encourage others to join in these or similar efforts and to undertake initiatives of their own.

NAIF is an exclusive, qualifying membership association founded by a group of dedicated investment fiduciaries who are recognized thought leaders and activists within their own investing communities across the nation. NAIF establishes a private forum for these fiduciaries to promote standards of professionalism and best practices, to share experience and expertise, and to empower one another through education and advocacy, in the spirit of volunteerism. NAIF’s unique global education and resource-sharing platform facilitates direct peer interaction and collaboration among individual members, who come from diverse backgrounds and orientations, to help them get the most out of performing their fiduciary duties: investing the funds entrusted to them by their respective constituents.

- Incubated alternatives to traditional investment strategies, by seeding and stress testing "floor traders" strategies using options. Achieved asymmetric return profiles. Enhanced return with a "synthetic dividend" in the form of "portable alpha" harvested through time and market volatility. - Conceived the Multidimentional Alpha Integration (MAI) alternative investing approach. Non-directional harvesting strategies completed (1993-1995), Bi-Directional hedging strategies (1996-1998), Directional swing trading stategies (1999-2003). - Since 2001, assembled 8 associates with 120+ years of combined trading experience (as option market makers) to Beta test MAI strategies on an evolving electronic platform that integrates complex trade execution, information processing, redundant opportunity scanning, continuous portfolio monitoring and analysis, all in real time. - 5-year Beta testing schedule (2001-2006) is being accelerated due to investor demand and favorable market conditions.

Served on the founding advisory board of an independent, not-for-profit global organization committed to education and professionalism in the field of alternative investments. Founded in 2002, the Association is the sponsoring body for the CAIA designation. Recognized globally as "the global mark of distinction in alternative investing", the designation certifies one’s mastery of the concepts, tools and practices essential for understanding alternative investments and promotes adherence to high standards of professional conduct.

YEO provides its members mentoring, peer networking, and educational opportunities. Membership is open to individuals who are under the age of 40 and are the founders or majority shareholders of companies grossing over $1 million annually (special exceptions also exist for venture-backed firms). Annual membership fees are $1,300. Local chapters hold monthly meetings and sponsor regular educational events or presentations. In addition, the national organization regularly sponsors tours of other countries to study new business strategies, methods, and innovations. Many chapters also feature "self-help" forums where groups of 10 to 12 entrepreneurs from noncompeting industries get together to work on common problems faced by small business owners, such as hiring good employees or international expansion. Personal issues are also sometimes explored in these private, confidential settings, which are facilitated by trained moderators.

Served as CEO and Chairman of a privately held financial services holding company co-founded with business partners and three siblings. Holding company comprised of a broker-dealer operating subsidiary (member NASD, SIPC, and MSRB) and SEC registered investment advisor operating subsidiary, both serving institutional investors exclusively.

- Served as appointed trustee on 7-member board of a public employees pension fund, entrusted with the stewardship of a $2.5 billion diversified investment portfolio. As a member of the investment committee. I worked with the investment staff to interview money managers, consultants, and other service providers, as well as to conduct due diligence site visits prior to making investment allocations ranging from $50 million to $250 million. - Began an active involvement in trustee training and fiduciary education. - Invested in the formation of the Fiduciary Training Institute, the Foundation of Advanced Fiduciary Education and Empowerment, and the National association of Investment Fiduciaries to serve the BUY-side Community. - Served an invited speaker and moderator of investor panels made up of experts at major institutional investment conferences being held worldwide.
