As the Marketing Executive, I was solely responsible for the marketing department where I organised for our team to attend, sponsor and speak at some of the major Subsea conferences in the industry. In addition to this, I organised and coordinated multiple events. These ranged from the smaller scale events, such as breakfast meetings, cable ship and factory tours to getting partners involved and running larger scale events at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta at running an 'under the sea' themed event at the Cutty Sark in October. Each day ranged from either organising booths and speaking opportunities, travel and passes to sourcing appropriate venues for attendees, catering, entertainment and ensuring the event or conference runs on time and to schedule. I worked to strict budgets for each event, negotiated the best possible rate while ensuring each event is to the specification required. I compiled invites to send to attendees, clarified any information with them and kept them up to date regarding the event. I regularly updated the website and all social media for the company while ensuring the target audience was considered ensuring there was a consistent approach across the business. I took over the responsibilities that were given to our external PR agency, based in New York. Bringing the PR side of things in-house meant that I compiled all the PR content as well as proposals, business plans, news articles, statements and speeches while liaising with the media on a regular basis. I wrote our collateral such as newsletters and blogs. I managed our three social media platforms and provided regular marketing activity updates to senior management, advising any areas of improvements and offered solutions to rectify these. Show less
