I teach psychology, counseling and women studies courses to both undergrad and graduate level students .

Over the course of working direct services with a non profit agency I created and coordinated 20+ Parents Anonymous support groups coupled with a 15 week Nurturing Parenting courses throughout the greater Pittsburgh Area. Families who were involved with the legal justice system, and/or at risk of abusing their child(ren), or in need of early intervention, or who just wanted to improve their parenting skills were able to attend the Nurturing Parenting Classes and gain continued support through weekly parenting group meetings. We, also incorporated this program into the justice system working with both men and women who were incarcerated for non violent crimes. It was an extremely rewarding experience and many families were helped.Todate, I now offer Nurturing Progam facilitator training to local agency staff who are working with at- risk groups and families. I have also designed an undergraduate course on Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment which incorporates the information and skills from the Nurturing Program. Show less
