I volunteered with with the Vortical Energy Recovery Turbine (VERT) senior design team at LeTourneau University starting my freshman year. I helped design, manufacture, and test novel, patented vertical-axis wind turbines. Over the three years of research and prototype development, I gained experience in composite materials fabrication and design as well as fundamental principles of wind turbine design and operation. I also designed, prototyped, and tested a 3-bladed variant of the turbine for solidity and RPM comparison at both the 1W and 100W scales. I am presenting my research at the ES Fuel Cell 2014 conference.

I helped develop a world record-breaking 3D printing lab for LeTourneau University. I managed the purchase of 3D printer kits, printing of all plastic components, and lab assistant team for a freshman engineering class of 165 students. The next semester, over 100 students and I broke the Guinness world record for most 3D printers operating in the same room. I am continuing to develop the 3D printing program and hands-on freshman experience for LeTourneau University.

Designed and conducted corrosion resistance testing on high strength aluminum alloys.
