By enabling revolutionary design freedom for new blade cooling geometries, Flowcastings enabled next-generation airfoils and more fuel efficient, lower emission operation of turbines. Together with founding team, managed all aspects of the start-up’s formation, including site selection, recruitment, specification and procurement of capital equipment, development of the company's suite of process innovations and associated IP protection, marketing and securing of pilot orders. At board request, assumed Flowcastings CEO position in April 2013 and oversaw Flowcastings’ acquisition of OEM customers, commencement of product delivery; and leadership of capital raise that culminated in both a debt financing round and Series B equity round; recruited a new CEO to take over in early 2016, and upgraded other key positions on the management team. The onset of COVID-19 interrupted customer orders and a funding round, and the company ceased operations in 2020.
