Backyard Growers is a grassroots organization that cultivates healthy, connected, resilient communities and fights for food sovereignty by empowering people to grow their own food. Our programs increase access to fresh, culturally meaningful food for low- to moderate-income households, seniors, children, and immigrant and refugee families.In my role, I lead messaging, branding, content creation, and community outreach to further Backyard Growers' mission. I also manage day-to-day execution across channels. I collaborate closely with Backyard Growers' director of development on fundraising initiatives and events while working in support of program goals that have direct community impact.In my tenure at Backyard Growers, I've grown with the organization, shifting from an initial 15 hr/wk consulting capacity to a full-time role at an organization with a mission I love.
