The University of Oxford’s collaboration with the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) was formed to enable companies, cities, and regions, to manage their environmental impacts. I was engaged on a short-term contract to analyse data compiled by the CDP on water use across 20 sectors Evaluated collected data to ascertain reasons why some companies opted not to disclose water usage as part of wider trends around disclosure (e.g. carbon). Conducted scoping exercise to determine data insights that would be of value to the academic community. Initiated use of an innovative network mapping tool (Kumu.io) to identify the key points of change within the respondents’ data, i.e. the trends across ~20 industries. Show less

Comprising of a joint venture between The Energy Institute, an organisation for engineers in energy related fields, and the World Wildlife Federation, with its mission to protect species and their habitats. I was engaged to scrutinize the ecosystem in Myanmar (Burma) and scope opportunities to develop decentralised renewable energy and to accelerate the roll-out sustainably and equitably. Formed strong and valuable business partnerships with key stakeholders including non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and energy providers. Social Innovation Exchange (SIX) is a social innovation partnership built on mutual value, relationships and knowledge, it facilitates cross-sector conversations to inspire and increase social impact. I was commissioned by SIX (self-employed) to explore innovative artistic methods to improve the wellbeing of individuals and communities by developing and championing effective global social innovation solutions. Deployed a multimodal approach to express through artistic practice a preferred route forward to tackle global issues (community, equality, empowerment, and the environment), and broadcasted a production with six Artist-Composers (Harpist, Filmmaker, Jazz Musician, Composer, Poet and Artist) to proclaim the message. Created and presented the radical ‘Jazz for wayfinding’ initiative comprising of a series of lectures that extend and strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration by translating music and dance concepts into learning opportunities. In this consultancy style research role, I collaborated in research on national level frameworks for the integration of urban development in national policies. This work formed part of a new research project that LSE Cities is leading in collaboration with the OECD as part of the New Climate Economy’s Coalition for Urban Transitions. My main contribution was to analyse how local urban development strategies in 10 case studies (7 in EMEA) were consistent with national policies trade-offs for economic growth in 10 countries in partnership with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development in a team (5).

* I am part of the policy team at the Royal Academy for the next 8 months leading the 'Sustainable Living Systems' - a project which brings together key stakeholders across housing and infrastructure delivery. The aim is to develop a shared perspective on the current system of housing and infrastructure delivery and the interdependencies across that system that impinge on the success and quality of outcomes for housing provision in the UK. We want to ensure efforts are aligned to facilitate infrastructure that is fit for the future and that we forge creative ways of getting quality, thriving places where people actually want to live!
