I have been promoted through multiple roles with increasing responsibility for customizing solutions addressing complex challenges at PayPal. In this role, I have delivered more than 50 Agile L2 stories to our production site, and I have deployed a multitude of solutions including third-party applications following PayPal’s PCI security standard. To achieve efficiencies in setting up new environments for applications being deployed, I initiated a transition to infrastructure as code (IaC). I help mitigate risk by serving as the trusted recorded key custodian for SSL and GPG encryption keys and collaborating with network security teams to manage X.509 and hardware security modules (HSM). A skilled problem-solver, I proactively perform root cause analysis and resolve issues impairing services including external financial/PCI restrictions. I have on-boarded 30+ processors, banks, partners, and merchants to our global secure payments backbone.

he Critical Account Program Manager is the last resort for accounts in trouble due to technical, quality, or service delivery issues. This role pulled together resources required to fix major issues and manage the account back to health.

Here, I motivated and led a team of five geographically distributed engineers to support the deployment of new products on the PayPal site. I created the necessary architecture documentation for hand-off to the delivery team and managed any related technical and political issues. I hosted regular project planning, architecture, and Scrum meetings to keep projects on track and triaged incoming project queues for 500+ Agile L2 and L3 stories. I managed the backlog and set expectations utilizing Kanban methodology, and I scripted Tableau to provide metrics from the existing ticketing system.

* The Site Availability program was hugely successful by increasing website availability by a factor of 20 and merchant availability by a factor of 200. Systems Engineering at Facebook brings infrastructure and software projects at massive scale to fruition. Enterprise Engineering encompasses everything that isn't directly involved with the Facebook community-facing website, which is still a lot. An Enterprise Systems Engineer is a breed of engineer that requires knowledge of almost all aspects of both Facebook's production services, interfacing them with internal IT services, and vice versa. There is nothing at Facebook limiting anybody's potential to utilize all the knowledge and resources at his or her disposal to move fast and take chances. Likewise, there is nothing at Facebook that is someone else's problem. My role is to find everything that can be improved, and improve it. Ruthlessly prioritized to maximize impact, I am given latitude to work on anything that furthers Facebook's mission and the many Enterprise Engineering objectives. I seek to redefine the paradigms and standards for services to function seamlessly and reliably at scale.
