As the Deputy Special Agent in Charge (DSAIC), I directed and managed a staff of approximately 24 special agents and support staff to ensure the timely response and investigation of employee misconduct and corruption. Assume responsibility of the CBP/IA San Diego Field Office during the absence of the Special Agent in Charge (SAIC) and I oversee operations of the IA/El Centro Field Office.

As an Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAIC), I direct and manage special agents assigned to the Dallas SAC Office to ensure the timely response and investigation of employee misconduct and corruption. Assume responsibility of the CBP/IA Dallas Field Office (DFO) during the absence of the Special Agent in Charge (SAIC) and the Deputy Special Agent in Charge (DSAIC).

Entered on duty with the Unites States Border Patrol on February 26, 1996 and successfully completed U.S. Border Patrol Academy at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in July 1996.

As a SBPA assigned to the Nogales Border Patrol Station I directed assignments through the supervision of Border Patrol Agents in grades GS-05 through GS-11. I supervised a unit of approximately 20 agents during the busiest time in the history of the Nogales Border Patrol Station. The Nogales Border Patrol Station’s operations include various plain clothes and special operation units, horse patrol, bike patrol, ATV patrol, prosecutions and field training unit.

* As the USBP Liaison to the Office of Internal Affairs I was responsible for reviewing Reports of Investigations (ROI’s) involving Border Patrol on a daily basis. Assure the allegations are categorized correctly. Acquire additional information from the field regarding allegations and investigations. Forward all Management Inquiries to the sectors for investigation. Additional duties/accomplishments include the following: * Answer questions and provide support to the field regarding investigations and allegations. * USBP liaison with the CBP/Joint Intake Center. * Liaison with OIG Office of Investigations. * Liaison with HQ/ICE/Office of Professional Responsibility. * Liaison with CBP/OFO Fact Finder Program. * Liaison with field and HQ Labor Employee Relations (LER). * Liaison with CBP/Personnel Security. I lead and manage a staff of approximately 86 law enforcement agents, officers and support staff. The LESC is responsible for the implementation and management of the CBP Use of Force Policy, certifies and recertifies all CBP use of force instructors (firearms and less-lethal), researches, develops, procures and provides life-cycle management for all CBP weapons, intermediate force devices, body armor and ammunition, collects and analyzes CBP use of force and assault data, houses CBP's armory and focuses on use of force accountability through the management of the National Use of Force Review Board program.
