The UFA is a national education charity that works with Local Authorities and other partners across the UK. The UFA is committed to working in innovative and creative ways with Local Authorities, schools, organisations, communities and individuals to enrich and extend learning for young people aged 5 to 25. The UFA explores imaginative approaches to training in order to engage teachers and other professionals, parents, carers, community organisations and businesses in transforming their own learning practice. From this training, the UFA create learning teams of the adults and young people

* Main responsibilities * A senior manager of the Octagon Theatre contributing to it’s strategic development. * Management of a participation department that aims to use the resources of theatre and the tools of drama to raise aspirations, improve attainment and contribute to the development of personal and social skills. Create programmes of work in response to national initiatives including Every Child Matters and Find Your Talent. * Create, facilitate and evaluate a diverse range of creative workshops, performances, * projects and training for adults and young people both during and outside school hours. * Work within a variety of settings including Schools, Youth Organisations and the * third sector.

Including additional responsibility as the Arts award in-house trainer for Bolton Council and the local network co-ordinator. Main responsibilities To support the delivery of the Find your Talent cultural pathfinder through supporting schools and third sector organisations in the delivery of high quality, co- ordinated offer of cultural learning experiences to children and young people To co-ordinate a cluster based ‘cultural change team’ to develop collaborative working practices and a comprehensive offer of high quality cultural and creative learning opportunities both during and outside school hours. To support and challenge schools and their cultural partners to use a range of cultural resources and learning experiences to try out new and innovative approaches to teaching and learning and the development of creativity. To provide critical friend support to schools and other providers to plan and evaluate cultural activity using a range of identified quality assurance methods including QISS (Quality in Study Support), Artsmark and the UFA young evaluators toolkit.

* Planning, delivering, developing and monitoring a programme of arts workshops to schools * and youth organisations within the borough of Dacorum to accompany the programming of * visiting Theatre Companies and artists at the Old Town hall Theatre.
