Explored multi-lateral applications for workover, stimulation, fracturing and drilling applications of technology resulting in various prototype tool designs. Developed numerical modeling and calculations for designing the optimal orientation and operational schedule of pulse powered fracturing.

Served onboard USS Cleveland LPD-7 based in San Diego, CA. Deployed from January to July 2003 and September 2005 to February 2006 with activities in the Mediteranian, Suez Canal, Red Sea, Indian Ocean, Arabian Gulf and Pacific ocean from Australia to Alaska. Supported the initiation of the second Gulf War, Mine Sweeping on northern entrance to Suez Canal, Humanitarian Relief to Pakistan, Pirate Hunting off the coast of Somalia, Security support for first presidential elections in Iraq, multi-nation military ops in Singapore and Australia, and cross military branch training in Alaska. Completed a innovative 2 year training program designed with the intention of producing D&C Engineers with an equivalent of 5 years experience. At first we were seconded to TransOcean for 12 months; where we worked and trained as a Roustabout, Floorhand, Derrickman, Assistant Driller, Driller, and Subsea Engineer on board a drill ship in deep water Gulf of Mexico. Then we completed 6 months with Halliburton; where we were trained and worked in the fields of west Texas and California as Mud Engineers, MWD/LWD technicians and Directional Drillers. Finishing up with 6 months at Schlumberger; where we experienced Cementing, Hydraulic Fracturing/Stimulation and Wireline training with field work in west Texas and Pennsylvania. I learned there is a significant difference between reading a book and getting a basic idea versus being on the working end of a wrench and getting an intimate and in depth familiarization with the equipment, processes and procedures that make O&G Operations incident free.
