I see customer through their vehicle's maintenance ensuring their requirements and expectations are met. I also help our branch achieve KPIs and targets.

I assist in the running and operation of all aspects of the hotel, and in addition carry out the role of Events Coordinator both here and at our sister venue, Roebank, in Beith.

In November 2019, I became Motability accredited meaning I can assist those with disabilities select a suitable car, and carry out the order process from initial enquiry through to delivery and aftercare. This was an easy role to pick up due to my previously held position in Sales, and skills built up throughout my time in Arnold Clark and wider working career. The role has taught me how to handle challenges and situations faced by customers that I have previously not thought about, and I take great pride in seeing them leave with a new car that makes a huge difference to their day to day lives.

I moved into the role of Product Genius and have found it to be a position I thrive in. Within 6 months, I had progressed from Tier 1 to Tier 3 and have also come 2nd in a quarterly “100 Club” competition. My experience and knowledge gained from Sales has allowed me to interact easily with customers, identifying their needs and wants from a vehicle while in branch and on test drives, while also helping them be sure of their decisions. I also send personalised videos to customers who enquire or have issues with their car, making me a source of advice and information on most vehicles. This year, my success in this role has led to management selecting me to take part in filming for “The Arnold Clark Car Show”, while also being a part of Arnold Clark’s Director’s led “Recognition Event 2019”, due to my hard work, continual high standards and fast progression.

I opted for a fresh challenge with Scotland’s largest private company as it incorporated my interest in vehicles and my customer service experience while also giving me the opportunity to achieve personal goals. The incentive driven nature of the role excited me as it different to anything I have previously experienced. During my employment I have completed the week-long “Sales Academy” training course and have been progressing through the company “Licensing Programme”, which develops you as a sales person. I have also passed the required SAF and SPFCA finance examinations. I have made steady progress with an increase in units sold as well as more fluency and efficiency in the sales process. The role has significantly increased my ability to meet deadlines and multi-task due to the many complex aspects that are involved from meeting a customer to delivering their vehicle.

I was given the opportunity to transfer store early in 2017 to become Duty Manager for both Auto and Cycle departments. This has allowed me to enhance my learning and develop my existing skills in a new environment with a new team. I have also been able to transfer some of my working processes and methods to this store, which gives me confidence in my ability

I changed my career path to retail with Halfords as it offered new challenges and appealed to my interest in cars. I joined in a Duty Manager’s role, and after six months progressed into a Cycle Department Manager. During my time here I have learned a huge amount in both practical and theoretical management. I have developed the ability to assemble and configure bikes as well as carry out basic maintenance to cars. My managerial, organisational and communication skills have been greatly enhanced during my time here and I now have a good understanding of how a large store and business operates day-to-day. In addition, attending manager’s conferences and meetings has helped me to better understand the operation of the business

I began work at House For An Art Lover in July 2014. This job expanded my work experience with knowledge on how large functions such as weddings, conventions and corporate dinners are organised and delivered. In addition, I prepared venues for wedding receptions before working on the bar. This was a very fast-paced, intense experience however, feedback from management and guests consistently praised my organisation, manner and efficiency in all situations.

I began working at the prestigious, newly refurbished Cromlix House Hotel near Dunblane as a member of the food and beverage team. I also performed the duties of a hall porter. During my time there, I learned a lot about myself and enhanced my skills to be able to work to a five-star standard. The diversity in my roles allowed me to expand my skill set and knowledge of food and beverage while also allowing me to improve and refine my own service capability. My time here was cut short as my family was relocating to Glasgow.

I worked at the award winning Kirkstyle Inn in Dunning as a member of kitchen staff, bar staff and ultimately as head waiter. I trained and developed my skills in each area and applied course education to the job. My confidence grew in taking on the new challenges of a senior member of staff particularly with regard to managing the team. Latterly, I was also tasked with running the popular "Curry Night" each week, preparing a trio of curries and accompaniments for around thirty customers.
