In my role as an Investment Counselor at Fisher Investments, I help clients stay on track with their long-term financial goals. I work with clients to establish a plan and then empower them to be informed and connected to their investments.

Working alongside a senior Investment Adviser to deliver responsible financial advice and superior outcomes to clients.

At Wilsons, I provided support and assistance to a team of investment advisers building their client books and providing ongoing advice to valued clients. In my role I engaged extensively with clients while handling the onboarding process, as well as providing an excellent ongoing customer experience in the maintenance of their advice and portfolio. In supporting the advisers, I included in and contributed to portfolio construction and asset allocation discussions, as well as the execution of the advice. I was also heavily involved in corporate transactions, managing the bid process within the firm for more than a year, and also working with the Investment Strategy Group within Wilsons to bring external deals to Wilsons' clients. My involvement in corporate deals also lead me to build the infrastructure and procedures to allow independent financial advisers (external to Wilsons) to gain access to our deals for their clients. I further took responsibility of the operational relationship with those IFAs.

This role allowed me to develop my industry knowledge, giving me great exposure to the registry and custodians. The role also gave me exposure to corporate action events, in liaising with investment bankers during entitlement offers. I got to work alongside a fantastic team of intelligent, hardworking people who made my first full-time role such fun.

I worked at a cafe throughout my university studies and I became supervisor for the last two years of my time there. I organised training and delegated tasks to a staff of about 15 people. I consistently made decisions regarding staffing and suppliers. My time there gave me great experience in customer service and management.
