I work with a Lawyer, a Paralegal and 3 other interns on case litigation. We cover areas of prisoners' rights violations with focuses on medical malpractices, access to their religious freedoms, assault by prison guards and helping to forward prisoners', among other violations, to other firms who may be able to assist them when the clients have yet to be DC Prisoners or needing assistance with criminal cases. If someone calls on a client's behalf, a client rights to us from prison or at home, or an email is sent to our office, etc, we make sure to respond or follow up on all issues. Even if it is just a referral or the passing of information that clients in prison are requesting. No letter or concern goes unanswered. We visit both the DC Jail and the Correctional Treatment Facility (private jail) in DC frequently to investigate cases and to decide how to move forward in assisting our clients.
