This process saw me successfully conduct testing and selection boards in order to changeover to officer. I then studied at RMIT from 2008 to 2011 completing my Bachelor of Electrical/Electronic Engineering.o 1st Class Honours with courses covering a range of electrical and electronic disciplines. o Fourth year thesis based on micromechanical systems and the fabrication of these using photolithography on the nanoscale. o My thesis enabled me to undertake extensive review of peer-reviewed literature, cleanroom fabrication, develop rigorous processes for micro-fabrication of flexible devices and electrical and electro-mechanical characterisation of micro-devices. o My final paper on the use of piezoelectric thin films for energy harvesting was presented in 2011 at the Melbourne conference for the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE) and has been cited multiple times in ongoing research in this field. Ultimately they will be able to understand the systems and the impact of defects and issues that affect the ship in a variety of scenarios. I am also responsible to the OIC NESC for all Weapons Electrical Systems at the school and their upkeep throughout the year. This includes dealing with contractors and Defence personnel to achieve the best outcome to keep the training pipeline active for the Navy. Extra roles whilst at NESC include the Unit Security Officer responsible for all elements of the security in a highly sensitive building and Divisional Officer for Warrant Officers.
