My program had a clinical concentration including 1,640 didactic hours and supervised practice in a multitude of diverse healthcare settings. I completed specialized rotations in acute care, cardiac, diabetes, oncology, nutrition support, GI disorders, long-term care, renal, wounds, mental heath, and hospital food service. I also completed out-patient/wellness rotations specializing in community nutrition, sports nutrition, eating disorders, corporate wellness, and food allergies/sensitivities. My program expanded my knowledge with hands-on experience working under Registered Dietitians in the Atlanta area.

* Completed nutrition and physical assessments including the comparison between current nutritional status and actual needs, body fat percentage, resting and exercise blood pressures, and BMI. * Educated patients on healthy eating habits and appropriate lifestyle changes. * Designed and prepared individualized menus for patients based on dietary goals and needs. * Collaborated with the on-site doctor and other members of the healthcare team on providing nutrition and wellness care for the patients.

* Clinical Dietitian providing nutritional care to residents within a skilled nursing/long-term care/rehabilitation facility. * Completes comprehensive clinical nutritional assessments on all residents as required- upon patient admission, annually, and on significant health or life changes within a scheduled time frame. * Evaluates the nutritional status of patients by evaluating nutritional histories and intakes, establishes long-term nutritional goals and objectives for individual patients. * Interview residents and/or family members, as necessary to obtain patient diet history, health status, and goals. * Completes monthly charting on each high-risk resident who receive enteral nutrition, hemodialysis, and wound care. * Interface with all services and team members. * Uses computerized (Point Click Care) charting.
