* Worked on developing Natural Language Understanding (NLU) engine in Python. * Developed web crawler with Scrapy to crawl large scale online raw text data. Preprocessed data with stemming and lemmatization, extracted sample user queries by using regular expression, comparing cosine/euclidean similarity with established gold standard dataset. * Designed and implemented an automatic system for evaluating third party NLU engine, including Nuance, Houndify and Robinlabs. * Designed and Developed RESTful Web services for NLU engine by identifying entities and user intents from user queries and stored results in JSON format. Designed and Developed logger application components for the NLU engine. Algorithms were pushed on Bitbucket.

* Evaluation of Cancer Prevention and Control Project for Pennsylvania Department of Health Worked closely with Drexel School of Public Health and Pennsylvania Department of Health to establish problem specifications and system designs. Coded four web services from frontend (using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) to backend (using JDBC to MS SQL), and also middleware (using JSP, Servlets and Tomcat) on the Windows Server platform. Applied statistical analysis to analyze user health characteristics and behavior features, with T-test, ANOVA, co-relation analysis, etc. (Sponsored by Pennsylvania Department of Health)
