Responsible for a team of 10 full-time hardware, software and mechanical engineers, as well as several part-time contractors, designing products for high-speed recording applications. Scope of work covers full life-cycle product development, from initial product concept and architecture, through development and engineering prototyping, and ultimately to production transition with intimate customer interaction and support.

* Directed technical staff in the development of both turnkey and open-system recording and storage products for the Pre-Detection Analog/Digital IF and Telecom recording market. Staff consisted of 10 Full-time Engineers (FTEs) composed of Digital Hardware Engineers, Analog/DSP/RF Engineers, Software Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers. * Grew Engineering staff from 4 FTEs to 10 FTEs. Reduced reliance on Contractors in areas of company core competencies. Maintained skilled Contractors as elastic resource pool. * Served as technical liaison to Sales/Marketing and external customers. * Assisted in definition of new products and the development of product roadmaps.

* Scope of responsibilities included design specification and validation of environmentally hardened, low power, embedded microprocessor systems for coherent recording of multiple channels of analog instrumentation * analog and digital design verification * prototype manufacturing and testing * software development (C/C++) * testing of analog signal conditioning circuits and simulation of analog filter parameters (MATLAB & VisSim). Performed shock and vibration testing and failure analysis. Exposed to full life-cycle product development. Printed Wiring Board (PWB) assembly (double-sided, surface mount) done in-house.

Conceived, designed and implemented custom CNC conversion of machinery for enhancement of manufacturing process. Developed custom motion control expansion board for IBM PC. Project included: digital design, analog design, power supply design, and motion control component integration/tuning. Developed all related software, including user interface and low-level I/O. Utilized 4-axis CNC milling machine and sophisticated CAD/CAM software (Mastercam) for precision part production. Developed specialized software and manufacturing techniques, including automated material optimization software for part production and fourth (rotary) axis conversion software.
